Running your first assessment

End-to-end: subject → capture → analysis → results.

Last updated April 17, 2026

This walkthrough covers a complete first assessment from start to finish.

1. Create a subject

Subjects represent the individuals being assessed. Each subject belongs to your organization and is used to group all of their sessions and progress history.

  1. Open Subjects.
  2. Enter a display name (can be a pseudonym to protect privacy).
  3. Optionally add an external ID (e.g. your practice management system's record ID).
  4. Click Create subject.

2. Start a new session

  1. Open Sessions and click New Session.
  2. Choose the subject from the picker.
  3. Optionally add a session name (e.g. "Baseline assessment — April 2026").
  4. Submit.

3. Capture the movement

You will need two smartphones for stereo capture. The Capture workflow guides you through:

  • Calibration (ChArUco board or checkerboard)
  • Camera positioning
  • Module selection (Gait, Squat, ACL Hop, CMJ)
  • Recording

See Capturing a trial for detailed instructions.

4. Review results

When processing completes, open the session and click through to the trial. You will see:

  • Per-metric grades — green, yellow, or red bands with the measured value.
  • Overall grade — aggregated from per-metric grades.
  • Highlights — wins and risks in plain language.
  • Recommendations — focus areas, coaching cues, and suggested follow-up.
  • Progress — if this is not the subject's first session, how metrics have changed.

All outputs should be reviewed by an appropriately trained professional. See our Disclaimer.
